Duncan's Ozark Summer
Summer is a 8 year old red roan mare aquired in late 2022. We were very fortunate to find her. She has one glass eye that is very unique in its coloring and enough white on her face and legs to verify her pinto breeding. She has shown to be gaited so we are excited about her future foals.
Standing at 12.2 hands, her registration with the Pinto Horse Association of America as a Class B pony in pending
With our future destined to be in the world of Welsh Mountain Ponies, we have her scheduled to breed to a Welsh Stallion in the spring of 2023.
We look forward to many years of her producing some very colorful PIHA's and Half Welsh babies.

Summer is a Sabino pinto. Sabino is a white pattern that causes "chrome". Sabino ponies generally have tall stockings, sometimes reaching the belly and wide facial markings from blazes to bald faces. Sabino ponies often have roaning as well, giving the white patters a spray paint look.
Summer also has one bule eye and one brown eye, which is called heterochromia. Basically, it's the lack of pigmentation in the eye which causes it to appear blue. Although the genetics behind the eyewall of the pony are unknown, there are several breeds of horses and ponies with registered stock blue eyes. Pintos and some Welsh have a gene that often results in blue eyes.
